All week Heinz had been saying that he was going back to manchester for another mooch and to show some other explorers what MCR has to offer so after some weird nutella shenanigans i was up and in manchester for one o' clock raring to go after a hangover maccies where we met up with Gone and OneByOne. after a short discussion about where to hit first we headed to debenhams where myself and Gone swore we would never return but as always things change so within 15 minutes we where on the roof of the famous shopping outlet that once held the largest radio mast in the world i wont explain the rest other than i am never ever going back to this place again.

After seeing Gone and OneByOne crack this one a few weeks ago it has been my goal to tick it of my own list since. So sat in collage bored as fuck i decided to do something productive with my day so after a short phone call to Agour and OneByOne we headed to Liverpool Joined by Herbert and two none explorers where we found work men still working on the so after showing Agour and herbert the views from Liverpool Hilton it was coming close too 1AM and my heart was racing but after a few alarms and a brainstorm later we where in the tunnel and cautious about the third rail but after 5 minutes things had calmed down and everything was pretty chilled so after a good 20 minutes down there we decided to bail and managed to leave with no distractions. i can honestly say this is the best underground tunnel and the scariest one at that i have ever been.

After cracking this one a few weeks ago with Gone and OneByOne with no camera i decided to pay a second visit with OneByOne, Herbert and Agour to grab myself a few flicks after an easy entry and a very helpful man in the lift we where on the top floor and up on the roof. after a ten minute fight against the wind and rain it finally stopped raining do i could get some decent pictures. Cracking views and the start to a awesome night !!

After a 3 hour sleep in the unfortunately locked sky tower we headed to The Park Plaza hotel with our brains refueled and 2 hours before our bus home was scheduled surprisingly we where on the roof again within 5 minutes we where in view of everywhere we slept, eat and rooftopped throughout the day this was one to remember.

The Park Plaza currently stands at 253 ft and has some of the best views in Leeds The hotel tower was built in 1966 after construction began in 1965, it was reclad in 2004 to host the four star Park Plaza Hotel. It had previously contained offices. The building kept the title of the tallest building in Leeds for seven years between 1966 - 1973

After bustin our first roof of the Leeds day trip (The Queens Hotel) we headed straight for the opal 3 student apartments with our heads held high. We didn't have much hope for this place as you can imagine due to it being student halls and expensive ones at that. But after 10 minutes of waiting we where in and up on the roof within 5 minutes and i can honestly say it has to be one of the best roofs i have experienced mostly due to the 30 ft shard on top of the building.

Opal 3 stands at 269 ft (82 meters) and accommodates for 542 university of Leeds and Leeds metropolitan university students.

After a long day in manchester bustin new shit we headed back to Gone's flat loaded with silly string, shit pizzas, arse melting curries and a diabetic Rookie. After a few episodes of an idiot abroad an searching through numerous reports Gone mentioned Leeds and within 15 minutes my bank account was down by 18 'Mega' pound and by 5.45 am we where sat on the bus on our travels to Leeds all within a few hours. Falling asleep on an empty mega bus and being disturbed by 'Otis' we where dropped of in Leeds without a clue where we was, Following our only plan to head into the centre we ended up at The Queens Hotel, Leeds after an eventful mcdonalds breakfast with Rookies goody bag and cone anger. Walking in and heading for the top floor we was on the roof within 5 minutes only to find a dry warm spot to rest our heads next to the warm air vents. An hour later and three refueled explorers where ready to indulge the city from this awesome roof. By 10 am we where down and heading for our next destination.

Queens Hotel is a hotel owned by Quintessential Hotels, located on Leeds City Square in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is an elegant Art Deco Grade II listed building. It was constructed in 1937 by architects W.Curtis Green and W.H. Hamlyn for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). It is a four star hotel and it has a total of 217 rooms. It was acquired in 2003 by Quintissential Hotels who gave it a £10 million makeover. Previous owners other than LMS and Quintissential Hotels have included the publicly owned British Transport Hotels between 1948 and the early 1980s and latterly the Forte Group hotel and catering company.

he Duke of Lancaster, a former car ferry and cruise ship, got its name the Fun Ship because, towards the end of its life, it operated as an arcade and bar from its dry dock at Mostyn. the ship was launched in 1955 set its maiden voyage in 1956 and became out of service in 1979. the ship weighs 4450 tonnes with a capacity of 1800 and a top speed of 21 knots which is approximately 24 miles an hour and is 376 ft in length.

and we where of on our third wales road trip this time with more of a plan. after meeting up with Jimmy and driving down to wales to meet Rookie we soon decided it was only best to conquer what we failed almost 2 years ago and with that in our heads we where on our way. boot full and car loaded we arrived at our destination and after layering up due to the minus degree weather we where outside hoping the Gypsies that seen us 2 years before had disappeared luckily no one poked there nose in and within half an hour we where on the boat and completely stoked. unluckily access to the inside of the ship has been locked down and is no longer accessible to our disappointment but the top decks where totally worth the wait. After a short while on the phone we both decided it would be a nice night to get some pictures from the docks over the mersey at night.

The night turned out a little differently than we expected :thumb

The cunard building is a grade II* listed building and construction started on the building in 1914 and then was completed in 1917 and was designed by William Edward Willink and Philip Coldwell Thicknesse.

The main purpose of the building from when it was completed to the 1960's was used as the headquarters for Cunard Line but Today, the building is owned by the Merseyside Pension Fund and is home to numerous public and private sector organisations.

Earlier on this year we looked at this area on google maps as rookie mentioned he had been there as a kid and could remember seeing and infall but we have never got round to checking it out until today when Gone threw out the idea to go check it out luckily enough we where succesfull and it was time to grab the waders.

The drain itself is about half a mile to a mile long and has a mixture of RBP and RCP with a few little chambers. most of the piping we seen dated back to around the 1980's.

After arriving in Warrington at 7am for work i Powered my way through a four hour shift in work whilst my brother waited to meet me to pop his dereliction cherry. Entrance to this place is in someways a bit tricky if you go with someone who doesnt really climb but but all in all easy.

City Gate by Bellway is made up of three buildings, each with it's own individual design and height.Located in the Castlefields area of Manchester, City Gate provides 149 luxurious apartments, spanning 6 floors, overlooking the Hulme roundabout.

Having already won the 2005 Specialists in Construction Awards, this apartment building is not one to miss. The view from the roof is something else, allowing for the opportunity to view Manchester from the south, something I do not have the opportunity to do very often.

I would suggest if you are taking a trip past this place, to stop and pay its rooftop a little visit as you will not be disappointed, especially on a hot summers day.

Cracking explore altough the lower floors do feel very eerie and as though you arent the only ones there. the amount of things in this place is amazing and without having a long clear i guarantee you will miss things.

Thanks to Rookie and Gone for this place as always bustin shit daily.

The Excelsior Printing and Bookbinding Works was originally opened on the Monday 4th July 1870 and the owner at the time was Mr John Heywood. At the time when it was opened this place could take on upto 750 employees and was one of the largest of it kind.

Not much history can be found for this epic place but Clare Tooling Systems occupied the building around the late 80's early 90's. many of the tools used have been left behind aswell as alot of paperwork office equipment and files.

Cant beat a good explore on a sunny day.

London Road Trip Part 2

After a long day trying numerous different buildings including Battersea Powerstation where we had our second police encounter this time being a little more intense, as we where sat looking for access to the gigantic power station two police men pulled up behind us lights flashing " HANDS ON THE WALL AND DONT TOUCH YOUR BAGS" is what the two british trnsport police officers shouted to us, as we imagined they thought where writers and where looking for a way on to the line to do some graff but after we explained what we where doing and why we where in London the officers changed there tone and actually tried to help us with access to the powerstation to our surprise. after failing to enter Battersea we decided it was only best to go and get some shots of Tower Bridge at night whilst Gone slept in the back seat of the car for 2 hours.

After we seen that it was getting light again we decided to head back to our hotel and get our heads down for the long day we had ahead of us.

Few hours later and we where awake again and looking forward to a packed day of sight seeing and a little surprise at the end of the day. 2oclock struck and we had just reached the tube station and where heading of into the centre on my first London underground journey. we arrived in the city and headed of on our tracks to the sights of London.

After a long day around the city of London we decided to get some food and head to the Millenium Dome for some night shots. whilst Rookie and OnebyOne where taking some snaps from over the river myself and Gone looked through each individual Apartment block around the area for roof acess, with no look at all the clock struck midnight and we decided to climb the 25 story tower block Streamlight Alberta Development which will hold 133 residential flats when it is completed.

One of the best views i have ever seen and i can assure you its going to be a hard one to beat!

London Road Trip Part 1

Part 1 of our London road trip.

After Gone and Rookie went to London back in October 2009 we decided it was a good idea to assemble the crew and hit the road for another epic roadtrip to Englands capital ... London.

After a Long journey we finally arrived at our Days Inn Hotel in Stanstead in the early hours of saturday morning hoping me and Gone could get away with being the children in order for the cheaper family room, success. we then headed to our room threw our bags in and headed straight back out into the centre of London where we almost encountered our first police involvement of the trip, which we quickly evaded.

After a few failed attempts that night we decided it would be a good idea to head back to Days Inn HQ and catch some sleep. Five comfy hours later and we where up and ready to leave heading of to our first destination. Spillers Millenium Mills/Rank Hovis Mill, Royal Victoria Dock, London, the mother of all mills.

The Spillers Millennium Mills was designed and built in 1905 by William Vernon and Sons and bought by Spillers shortly afterwards. In 1917 part of the iconic mill was destroyed due to an explosion. the mill has been used in many films such as full metal jacket aswell as a hit single from the arctic monkeys 'Fluorescent Adolescent'.

The Media Enterprise Centre is expected to be completed in 2011 as the first phase of the Media City completion. The 53,500 sq ft building which will have had over £8,000,000 spent on it once completed is set to house editing, data storage, data transfer, and video conferencing facilities.

This has to be the most adrenaline fueled explores i have ever experienced. I felt like i was in a movie trying to get away from security scaling walls, traversing inched away from water, jumping fences and climbing walls luckily we got away.

Epic explores with a bit of a chase... Cant beat it.

After patientally waiting to weeks for my waders to arrive they finally came and it was time to take part in a little bit of Drainmeal and see what fun i was missing out on wadering through shit.

With a length of 0.47km this culvert covers a long section of the Medlock and is about 12/15ft tall inside and was found by Siologen in 2005.

Not one of my favourite explores but i did enjoy it. this place is the hardest place to light up i have ever been to but one of my favourite entrances ever big up to Gone for showing me this place.

The massive culvert was built to allow the river Irk which was arched over and the river bed paved in 1901 as part of the station extensions to pass under Victoria station. It is roughly 1km long and has a number of
interesting features including some side ducts a couple which we explored one of which leading under Walkers Croft the other behind Victoria, a cattle bridge 20 feet below the station, a coal chute and a morgue chute (nice), where dead cattle were loaded onto barges. At the end we also saw part of an original bridge and Sewer pipe that runs into and through the arches and beyond Hunts Bank.

Another trip needed but a great way to christen my Waders.

Slacklining

slacklining is the sport in which you attach a line between two points for example a tree and walk across the line. many people go walkking, riding bikes, rock climbing but we do slackline.

It was a warm morning about 5am and i spoke to yaz and we went out slacklining where we where then joined by a gay drunk and a homless ginger guy who tried numerous times to walk across but due to the ammount of alcahol intake he could barely get on the thing.

Respect to Yaz for providing the slackline.

Mayfield Station, Manchester

Mayfield station, located on Fairfield street, Manchester, was originally opened for it's primary use as a passenger station on thr 8th of August, 1910, under the ownership of of London & North Western Railway. The intention of the Mayfield addition was offering more control over the increasing rail traffic along the Styal Line.
The station was closed to passengers on the 28th of August, 1960, though it was re-opened on the 6th of July, 1970 after it was altered to a parcel depot for the Royal Mail sorting office located on the opposite side of the main line. This was closed after 16 years in 1986, as a result of Parcelforce changing from rail transport to an entirely road based fleet. The building suffered fire damage in 2005 after fire broke out in the roadside building.

twice we went up this in the day as we had a Mcdonalds break halfway through due to police on the same rooftop as us so we just needed it to calm down.

After 25 minutes of going up and down in the worst lifts known to man we finally found our way to the roof. 20 minutes gone and pictures taken we had to make a swift exit as some shouted from one of the windows we had to sneak past only to find ourselves lost but we soon found our exit and we were on our way.

Sackville Street Building was once occupied by UMIST and was UMIST’s main building but in 2004 it merged with Manchester University.

Construction on the building started in the early days of 1984 on a site that was owned by Sir Joseph Whitworth's engineering works and in 1902 it was finally opened by the Prime Minister Arthur Balfore.

Excellent explore but without Rookie doing his dance it just wouldnt have been the same.

The £50 million apartment building was completed in 2006 and most of the buildings bottom floor is made up of bars and also restaurants.

didnt stay around up here for too long as residents from across the other side of the complex seen us so we didnt stick around to see what was going to happen.

Crackin end to the day shame Rookie couldnt have joined us but after 27 hours without sleep i can understand why he wanted to just go home and sleep.

I had walkeed past this place hundreds of times before i actually looked at it properly andit was this time that i had to get in there one of most iconic and beautiful buildings in the city. Inside the place was like Gone said "a treasure chest" absolutely loads of different rooms, ticket stubbs, popcorn boxes, projectors and air horns including a lovely rooftop which we didnt spend much time as the inside was just too interesting.

Built in 1930 to the designs of architects Frank T. Verity & Samuel Beverley for Paramount Theatres. this amazign place originally contained 2,920 seats. In 1939 the Paramount circuit was obtained by Odeon. It was twinned in 1973, triplexed in 1979 with a further four screens created in 1992 and was one of the biggest of its kind in Manchester.

Amazing place and so glad i was able to see this place before it is demolished.

First real night out with Nckt.

After walking round Manchester City Centre for almost an hour we decided to have a crack at the Arena and to our surprise it was just to easy up and down with no trouble at all. But with a little surprise a few weeks later.

After a few weeks had passed i got a call one Sunday afternoon from Gone saying ''Mate your in the Daily Star''.

After having some inspiration threw at us to do this inspiring new thrill seeking activity it was time to be the key so a week passed and Gone's key arrived and we where of to out nearest NCP carpark to figure out the mechanics behind these small travelating robots. after about an hour trying to figure out the controls and how to re-open the door from the opposite side we finally entered the lift and experienced our first surf. whilst most people stand in these lifts people use everyday checking themselves down staring at strangers and waiting hoplessley for there floor to arrive we are inches aay from there heads having the time of our lives riding the amazing machines.

Big up to Gone for the help with figuring out the surfing and supplying the key.

Five Ways Tower, Birmingham

Built in 1979 and standing at 249ft with 23 Storeys Fiveways tower is situated in the heart of Birmingham and provides some excellent shots.

Excellent evening and thanks to the birmingham crew for showing us around.

After a long wait it was finally time to climb the biggest crane in manchester after climbing in and up the ladders we where finally at the top and the views where amazing.

This is where JimmyHalfway's name was first decided as he only managed to climb halfway and also managed fall asleep whilst we where at the top.

The crane currently stands at 250ft and was planned to build a 22 storey tower block with 130 Apartments until they went bust.

Great Crane with amazing views.

Stubbs Mill, Manchester

My first solo and then as i was about to leave i had the privelage of bumping into Rookie on my way out so went around again for more pictures.

Stubbs mill is in the development of of what is called new Islington (Ancoat's)which is an old milling area of manchester, the mill is next to the Ashton canal and was originally used for making and assembling equipment for the cotton industry after that it became several smaller rag trade companies. Now owned by urban splash the plan was to re-develop the mill and the surrounding area but work has stopped on many of the sites.the mill it self has been gutted only the tower and a few other things worth seeing closed down some time in late 90's
